Hamsters may be offered seemingly out of order.
Someone may want a specific colour, sex or fur type. When a hamster is available, someone may choose to defer because the time is not right. Someone may ask to leave the waiting list because they no longer want a hamster.
The list is provided to help people have an idea of the number of people ahead of them. How fast any specific number moves depends on many factors.
